In this post, I'm going to talk about a few common types of computer security threats and how to avoid them and prevent them by getting into your computer.

So, what is computer security threats first?

A threat is a possible negative action or occurrence that is facilitated by a vulnerability and resulting in an undesirable impact on a computer system or application in the context of computer security.

A common misconception is that a computer virus and Malware are the same things. A computer virus is a sort of malware that exists on its own. It is most typically seen on Windows systems.

It also inserts dangerous lines of code into a program that is already installed on your computer. Malicious programs will be executed when your machine wakes up.

In most cases, a computer virus is distributed as an attachment in an email. It's also available for download on certain rogue websites. It transmits spam, disables security settings, corrupts files, and steals personal information from your computer.

Personal information, such as passwords, is included in this data. This sort of malware is extremely dangerous since it has the capability of erasing everything on your hard disk.

We have so many common types of computer security threats and I'm going to talk about the most famous ones.

The first one is the "Trojan Horse", one Trojan horse is a gift from the Greeks in the tale of the Trojan War. They concealed themselves within the facility before attacking. The Trojan deceives the attacker by forcing them to enter a password-protected area.

A Trojan is a harmful attacking code or program in computer networks. It deceives the user into willingly running harmful programs or software. The assault goes undetected because it is disguised as legal software.

A trojan horse is often disseminated by a phony advertisement or an email. It's possible you mistook it for a message from someone you know. When you open the email and open the attachment, the virus is immediately downloaded to your machine.

This danger is compounded by the fact that it can record your passwords. It can also take control of your webcam and steal data from your computer.

The second threat is called "Spyware", Spyware is a prevalent computer security problem that is used by cybercriminals to spy on their victims. It installs itself on a computer without leaving any visible or audible signs. Just by looking at the computer, people are unable to detect the existence of malware. Phishing, unsolicited downloads, illegal websites, and USB drive connections are all common sources.

Spyware is a serious computer danger. It has the ability to steal a variety of data. Passwords, keystrokes, computer files, and driver data are all examples of this type of information.

Now last but not least "Adware", Adware monitors your internet activities and bombards you with adverts and pop-ups. These advertising are displayed in File Explorer, Web Browser, and other apps, as well as across your computer.

Malicious downloads, browser extensions, and software are commonly used to distribute this.

It can also gather and steal your data, as well as slow down your device's processing. It might also slow down the speed of your internet access.

Now that you have known a couple of types of viruses. here are some steps and tips to avoid these viruses to get into your computer.

1. Keep your computer up to date

2. Don't use Internet Explorer

3. Backup your computer

4. Anti-virus basics

5. Avoid suspicious websites

6. Always scan email attachments

So now that you know the most famous types of computer threats and how to prevent them from happing to your computer, go and do all these steps to stop and delete any viruses on your computer.
